The city of Karachi is experiencing cold winds today, with temperatures expected to drop as low as 10°C.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the cold, dry weather is being driven by freezing winds from Balochistan, Express News reported.
“The temperature will feel 2 to 4 degrees lower than the actual reading due to the cold winds,” the department said.
Karachi recorded a minimum temperature of 13°C this morning, and the maximum temperature is expected to reach 26°C within the next 24 hours.
Meteorological experts have also warned of north-easterly winds blowing at a speed of 10 to 25 km/h throughout the day.
Yesterday, Karachi experienced dry weather with cool nights, according to the Met Office.
The PMD forecasted intermittent strong winds across the city.
The minimum temperature recorded was 12.4°C, and was expected to remain around 11°C.

Strong winds from Quetta, which began between Thursday and Friday night, have intensified the chill in the city.
The Met Office stated that these winds could cause daytime temperatures to drop further.
The cold winds are coming from northeastern Balochistan, where the wind speeds have reached up to 33 km/h.
Northern Pakistan
Meanwhile, in northern Pakistan, temperatures have dropped significantly.
The lowest temperature in the past 24 hours was recorded in Leh at -13°C, followed by Skardu at -7°C, Kalam at -6°C, and Islamabad at -1°C.
Peshawar, Lahore, and Multan recorded temperatures of 3°C and 7°C, respectively.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, heavy snowfall has covered the mountains, and roads, homes, and trees are all blanketed in snow.
Northern Balochistan is also under a severe cold wave, with temperatures in Quetta falling to -6°C, and -5°C in Kalat and Ziarat.
The PMD has issued a warning that the cold wave will persist in many regions of the country.
The weather is expected to remain cold and dry in Islamabad and surrounding areas.
